Race Sport Karting brought a handful of drivers and collected three podiums in the process. The Micro Max class saw driver Joseph Terribile have a painfully close challenge for the second spot, but came up half a Kart short at the wire. Congratulations to him and his family. Race Sport's Emily Lander in her debut (FKCS) Rotax Senior race captured the pole position in under less than ideal conditions. As the temperature and rain were falling, the competitors took to the track for qualifying. Inspite of the 37 degree wet conditions Emily showed the way with a commanding margin over the field. Dry conditions prevailed as the track went back to mandatory slicks just prior to the pre final. With the Rotax class combined with Tag light Emily started outside pole on the front row. A venture into a "still wet off line corner" sent Emily back to last on the final lap. With darkness rapidly approaching the final race was shortened from 10 laps to 5. Starting from the 7th position Emily set out on a mission. 5 short laps later she was waxing the bumper of the of the second place finisher and had to settle for third position. Emily also received the FKCS fast lap award.

Round one was held at the newly updated Orlando Kart track and under bitterly cold conditions. The Saturday top podium spot went to Butch as Jim suffered mechanical problems in the final. Practice was delayed on Sunday morning briefly as ice had to be cleared from the track. Once the racing started it was all Jim capturing the pole, prefinal and final wins.

Round two was held at the PBIR track. On Saturday once again it was all Race Sport Karting as owner Butch Lander qualified on pole with Jim Machul second. Both the perfinal and finals were dominated by Jim as Butch had a hard fought battle for the second spot only to fall to third at the finish line. Sunday was once again all about Jim qualifying in the pole position and never looking back for the prefinal and final. Butch had second closed up until a final lap pass attempt resulted in contact and a penalty placing him in third.

As one of the only supporters of the Moto shifter classes in Florida, Race Sport Karting's involvement was apparent as we lent assistance and supplied parts to each of the competitors in the Stock Moto class during this weekend.

On September 5th and 6th, Race Sport Karting headed down to Homestead with several customers and teammates to the track, with our fabulous Arrow chassis. Saturday offered a fantastic opportunity to race in the rain and learn kart control. Sunday was a great day to be in South Florida. Some of the winners included our own Butch Lander winning in Stock Honda Shifter and Al Papitto (Boss 330 Racing) winning 3rd in ICC shifter. Miss Emily Lander has moved up to Senior this series and pulled off 4th in Rotax Senior and 5th overall in a field of 15 karts.*

As always, Homestead Karting was a well oiled machine. They deliver fun, safety and a great place to race!
